Marshall Whitfield Moore passed away on October 5, 2015 at age 90. Born in Dorchester County, MD, he went to a one-room schoolhouse before graduating from Cambridge High School, attending the State Teachers College (STC) in Salisbury, and serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Moore was very active in local civic affairs; he was a founding member of the Ward Museum and Chairman of the Board of the Ward Foundation. He was also a former president of the Salisbury Lions Club, member of the Maryland Board of Trustees of the State Universities and Colleges, and founding member and chairman of the Salisbury University Foundation.
Mr. Moore was an avid duck and goose hunter as well as a trot-line crabber. In retirement, he spent many hours at the family cottage located on Brannock Bay in Dorchester County known as “Point of View.”
