The Ward Museum hosts special events as a means of promoting and preserving the legacy of the Ward Brothers, artistic traditions, community heritage, and connections to the natural environment. Each special event provides an opportunity for artists to exhibit their works, a forum to interpret related activities, social opportunities for members, and support for our exhibits.
In addition to the Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition and Art Festival, the Ward Museum Photo Festival, and the Delmarvalous Festival, the museum has a free reception for the openings of new exhibits. The opening reception of an exhibit offers the public an opportunity to meet the artists or collectors involved with the exhibit and learn the history and significance of the items on display. All exhibit openings are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted in the Museum Calendar.
