Anthony Donato

A native of Fresno, California, Anthony Donato was introduced to the outdoors by his father at a very young age as his dad carried him on his shoulder out to the duck blind at the Lone Goose Duck Club. His interest of wildlife grew rich in his blood over the years. In 1995 with the help of books, an aviary and other decoy and wildlife carvers he met at carving shows, Anthony began to create simple gunning and decorative decoys and entered competitions to help improve his carvings. He has won several Best of Show Awards at every level including “2nd Best in World Pairs in 2024, “3rd Best in World Pairs in 2017, 18 & 23. He has won the CWA Decoy of the Year in 2018, 19, 22, 23 & 24. A graduate of California State University, Fresno with a BA in Broadcast Communications, Anthony works as a General Operations Manager for a local radio station but at night finds most of his time working on his next carving.
