Walter Gaskill

Born and raised on Harkers Island, NC, Walter Gaskill has been around waterfowl and shorebirds all of his life, either hunting, raising, and now carving them. He has judged competitions at the Core Sound Decoy Festival and the East Carolina Wildlife Arts Festival. He enjoys competing at different competitions across the US which he considers a great learning experience. Walter was a judge at the 2007 and 2009 Ward World Championship (Novice) Floating Decorative division, and has judged in the novice and intermediate classes the last two years. Walter also placed second best of show in the World Shootin’ Rig competition in 2014 and 2015. Walter placed third best in show in the World Shootin’ Rig Competition in 2023 and 2024.
