Gerald Painter

( - )

Jerry Painter is a self-taught wood carver whose subject matter includes birds and fish. His attention to detail and anatomical accuracy is apparent in each of his meticulously detailed sculptures. His home on the Missouri River in Montana is a birder’s paradise offering excellent opportunities to view his subject matter up close and expand his increasing photographic collection. Trout reference is just a cast away and a perfect excuse to get out on the water. Jerry competes and has won numerous awards at shows across the country including the Columbia Flyway Show, Pacific Flyway Decoy Show and the Ward World Carving Competition. He won best of division twice for miniature wildfowl in the advanced level at the Ward World Championship in Ocean City, Maryland, which has elevated him to Masters class. At the 2013 Ward World Championship Jerry placed second in World with a miniature of a buff breasted paradise kingfisher, third in World with miniature pair of Ruffs in 2014, in 2016 third in World with Royal Flycatcher, and First in World 2017 miniature Cape Sugarbird Pair.

Jerry attends two major selling shows a year, The Western Masters Arts Show and Sale in Great Falls, MT, and The Easton Waterfowl Festival in Easton, MD. He can be contacted with questions or comments through his website geraldpainter.com.
