Jason Lucio was born in 1970 and has been carving since he was 14 years old. Many would say that it carving is in his genes. His father, Larry, and sister, Laura, are both respected award winning carvers. When he was younger he was mostly interested in waterfowl but that interest has expanded to include most wildfowl. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time outdoors canoeing, hiking, fishing and especially bird watching.
He is a two time world champion in the decorative decoy pair’s competition in both 2003 and 2004. He also took home second best in the same competition in 1989, 1994, and 2004. Jason now, because of his skills and expertise in carving has been invited to be a judge at many prestigious competitions across the North America. He also instructs shows at the competitions and gives seminars on carving and painting.
Jason has an honors degree in Ornamental Horticulture and enjoys landscaping. He lived in Southern Ontario in the village of Bothwell with his wife Angelle and his two daughters Avery and Holly.
