Herb Watson is A native of the eastern shore of Virginia, and now lives on the eastern shore of maryland. He began carving in 1974 following in the footsteps of Twin Brother Rick. Their father actually carved a few decoys in the 1950s.
Rick and Herb exhibited our carvings together at shows across the east coast including 40+ years at the Waterfowl Festival. Rickpassed away one week after the 2021 Waterfowl Festival.
Rick and Herb were selected co-masterpiece carvers at the 2022 for the 51st Waterfowl Festival. Herb’s focus in carving has been primarily miniatures of ducks, shorebirds, and a few songbirds.
Herb says he “has been fortunate to receive awards in competitions across the country along the way.”
