Kent Duff

(1956 - Present) Rochester, MN

As a woodworking teacher in Claremont, MN, Duff honed his skill as a carver before starting to work with decoys.  After seeing the bird carving process at a decorative decoy show for the first time in 1981, Duff threw himself into the art form.  His first piece was a poorly executed Mallard, but he continued and was soon producing exquisitely detailed birds that were catching attention.  He has won Best in Show and Best in Category at numerous national decoy carving competitions.  At his workshop, he maintains an aviary of thirteen species of North American ducks and is a full time carver.
