Phil Galatas

Phil Galatas has lived in Slidell, Louisiana most of his life. He admits that he has been self taught in his artistic abilities. He started by carving and has now moved to focus more in painting. He works primarily in acrylic and oil paints. His art is displayed in many places including this museum, Phillips Petroleum Museum of Oklahoma and the Louisiana Museum of Art. He lives on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain and believes that it is his fortune to continue to live and work in his native paradise.
