Ronnie Zint, from Hillsboro ,TX, started his carving journey in the early 80’s. Being a woodworker and cabinet maker by trade, he was able to pickup carving pretty easily. In these years of returning to carving, he has won the Best of Show multiple times and the Life-size Competition at the Louisiana Wildfowl Carvers & Collectors Guild Festival.
In 2023, he also won the Gold Medal for the Best Sculpture at the juried Bosque Art Classic in Clifton, TX, with his Miniature Flying Barn Owl. He won Best in Show at the Cajun Heritage Festival in LaRose, LA with his Mallard Hen.
Ronnie won the Gulf South Championship in 2023 with his flying Screech Owl, and it is now in the prestigious collection of its sponsor,  Conoco Phillips.
Ronnie’s favorite saying is, “God’s Talent, My Labor”.
